Katheryn Elizabeth "Katy" Hudson[1] (born October 25, 1984), better known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, businesswoman, philanthropist and actress. She was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. Having had very little exposure to mainstream pop music in her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teen and released her debut studio album, Katy Hudson, in March 2001. She also recorded a collaborative album with The Matrix and a solo album she worked on with Glen Ballard, the latter of which was never released.
In April 2007, Perry signed a recording contract with Capitol Records. She attracted media attention with the November 2007 online release of "Ur So Gay" and rose prominence with the June 2008 release of her second album, One of the Boys, which produced the singles "I Kissed a Girl", "Hot n Cold", "Thinking of You", and "Waking Up in Vegas". The project was further promoted through the Hello Katy Tour. In November 2009, she released a live album titled MTV Unplugged, which features performances of several tracks from One of the Boys. Perry's third record, Teenage Dream, was released in August 2010 and spawned the Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping singles "California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T.", and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)". In doing so, it became the first album recorded by a female artist in history to produce five number-one hits, and the second album overall after Michael Jackson's August 1987 album Bad. Perry embarked on the California Dreams Tour following its release. In March 2012,Teenage Dream was re-released as Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection and produced the number-one single "Part of Me". Her fourth album,Prism, was released in October 2013 and was preceded by singles "Roar" and "Unconditionally".
Perry has received numerous awards and nominations, including nine Grammy nominations and Billboard dubbed her as 2012's Woman of the Year.[2]She remains the only artist to spend 69 consecutive weeks in the top ten of the Hot 100.[3] Perry is also the third best selling digital singles artist in US according to RIAA.[4] She has ventured into celebrity endorsement and released fragrances PurrMeow, and Killer Queen. In July 2011, she made her film debut voicing Smurfette in The Smurfs. Perry was ranked at number fourteen on Billboard's list of top moneymakers of 2011, grossing more than $11 million.[5] In July 2012, she released her 3D autobiographical documentary film, Katy Perry: Part of Me, which concentrated on her life as a touring artist and the breakdown of her one-year marriage to English actor/comedian Russell Brand. As of November 2013, Perry had sold over 11 million albums and 81 million singles worldwide and her singles are some of the best-selling worldwide.[6][7]

The Script are an Irish rock band from Dublin formed in 2001.[3] Based in London after signing to Sony Label Group imprint Phonogenic, the band released their eponymous debut album in August 2008, featuring the hit songs "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" and "Breakeven". The album debuted at number one in Ireland and the UK.[4] Their second album, Science & Faith, was released in September 2010, and contains the hit songs "For the First Time" and "Nothing". The album debuted at number one in Ireland and the UK, and number three on the US Billboard 200.[4][5] Their third album#3 debuted at number one in Ireland and the UK.
Their music has been featured in popular television programs such as 90210Ghost WhispererThe HillsWaterloo RoadEastEndersMade in Chelsea and The Vampire Diaries. Frontman Danny O'Donoghue was also a coach on The Voice UK for seasons 1 and 2, before leaving the show in order to focus more on the band.[6][7] In 2009 Industry Victoria's Secret chose "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" as the theme for its annual parade The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2009 for the opening segment and the Enchanted Forest segment with Heidi Klum.

On May 24, 2012, Eminem announced he was working on his next studio album.,[114] set to be released in 2013.[115] Even without a title or release date, the album was included in multiple "Most Anticipated Albums of 2013" lists; including MTVComplex Magazine where it was listed in sixth position; and XXL Magazine, where it was listed in fifth.[116]
On June 30, 2012, Eminem talked about the album with DJ Whoo Kid, on his own radio station, Shade 45. He stated that the material is taking shape, and that Dr. Dre will be involved in some way.[117] On August 30, 2012, Slaughterhouse member Royce da 5'9" gave his thoughts on the album, stating "I'm not so sure how the world is going to respond from some of the things that I've heard from him." Close friend and fellow rapper 50 Cent is also confirmed to feature on the album.[118] Eminem also was featured on Pink's album The Truth About Love on the track "Here Comes The Weekend".
On February 11, 2013, Shady Records President and Eminem manager Paul Rosenberg announced that Eminem's eighth studio album would be released after Memorial Day, 2013. "We fully expect to be releasing a new Eminem album in 2013. He's been working on it for some time," said Rosenberg. "It's safe to say that it will be post-Memorial Day at some point, but we're not exactly sure when. We've got some dates locked in for him to perform live in Europe in August, so we're trying to see what else lines up." The album remained untitled.[119] On March 22, 2013 Dr. Dre said that Eminem was close to finishing the album and that he worked together with Eminem on it.[120] Producer No I.D. has been confirmed to produce on the album.[121]
On August 14, 2013, a song titled "Survival" featuring Liz Rodrigues, with production by DJ Khalil was premièred in the multiplayer trailer for the video game Call of Duty: Ghosts. A following press release revealed the first single from his eighth studio album would be released soon.[122][123] During the 2013 VMAs, it was revealed that Eminem's next album would be titled The Marshall Mathers LP 2 (a sequel to his previously released album The Marshall Mathers LP) and would be released on November 5, 2013.[124]
The Marshall Mathers LP 2 was released as planned on November 5, 2013, by Aftermath EntertainmentShady Records, and Interscope Records. The standard edition contains 16 tracks, while the deluxe edition also includes a second disc with another 5 tracks.

Recovery is the seventh studio album by American rapper Eminem. It was released on June 18, 2010, by Shady RecordsAftermath Entertainmentand Interscope Records as the follow-up to Eminem's Relapse (2009). Originally planned to be released as Relapse 2, the album was renamed toRecovery when Eminem found the music of the new album different from its predecessor.
Production of the album took place during 2009 to 2010 at several recording studios and was handled by various record producers, including Alex da KidJust BlazeBoi-1daJim JonsinDJ KhalilMr. Porter and Dr. Dre. Eminem also collaborated with artists such as PinkLil Wayne and Rihannafor the album. Recovery featured more introspective and emotional content than its predecessor and the theme of the album revolved around his positive changes, anxiety, and emotional drives. For the promotion of the album, he featured in TV shows and performed the album's songs live on televised shows, at awards ceremonies, musical events and also headed The Recovery Tour.
The album received generally positive reviews from music critics, who complimented Eminem's rapping and performance on the album, although some criticized its inconsistency and production. Recovery debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 741,000 copies in its first week and stayed at number one for seven non-consecutive weeks. It also peaked inside the top ten of several other countries and was the best-selling album of 2010 worldwide. By October 2011, the album had sold approximately 10 million copies worldwide. Recovery has earned Eminem American Music AwardsBillboard Music AwardsDetroit Music Awards and Grammy Awards, while it was nominated at Brit AwardsJuno Awards and MTV Video Music Awards Japan.
The lead single "Not Afraid", released on April 29, 2010, sold 380,000 digital downloads in its first week debuting at number one on the US BillboardHot 100 and earned Eminem a Grammy for Best Rap Solo Performance. "Love The Way You Lie" featuring Rihanna reached the top spot in over 20 countries and stayed at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for seven consecutive weeks. With sales of over 5 million in the United States and 10.25 million worldwide, it became Eminem's best selling single to date. He collaborated with Lil Wayne for "No Love". "Space Bound" was released as the fourth and the final single. Four other unreleased songs from the album also charted on the US Billboard Hot 100.
